Full Swing Kit Review 2025: What We Liked (and What Needs Work)

The Full Swing Kit has a lot going for it.

• It’s being used in the indoor TGL league.
• It’s got the slickest user interface we’ve reviewed.
• It works well indoors and outdoors.

But there are some issues under the hood that you should know about.

Let’s dive into all of its features (good and bad) so you can decide on your next launch monitor.

Our reviews are THOROUGH, so use the table of contents to jump around to features you care about.

First, let’s break down what we liked and didn’t like.

Pros of The Full Swing Kit

Perfect on course / driving range Launch monitor

While many launch monitors are temperamental and take an age to set up (particularly outside), the Full Swing Kit is the opposite.

No leveling, no calibration, no putting annoying stickers on the clubface.

You put it down and you are ready to go within minutes.

Great for the range and even better for on-course play where you are constantly on the move.

Just make sure the monitor is sitting 10 feet behind the golf ball.

The battery life of 5 hours is also very good for outdoor play.

So even if you’re stuck behind your club’s version of JB Holmes on the course, you will still have enough battery to last the round.

Auto-Saved Videos Of Every Shot

Every one of your swings is recorded in clear HD video without you needing to do anything extra.

All automated and saved to the cloud for future review.

You are building a treasure trove of useful data for you and your coach without lifting a finger.

Tiger’s backing

We’ll admit it — it’s very comforting that Tiger is backing this launch monitor.

I know, I know — this could be just another celebrity endorsement cash grab.

But the truth is, Tiger doesn’t need to. His bank balance is beyond comfortable.

Tiger uses the monitor in warm-ups, and there’s no way he’d rely on subpar tech before a round just for money (which he doesn’t need) — no chance.

More importantly, you’re seeing the Full Swing monitor more and more on Tour practice areas, being used by other pros before their rounds.

Golfers like Dustin Johnson, Gary Woodland, and Jon Rahm (another Full Swing partner) have been spotted using the monitor too.

Always acting on customer feedback

Full Swing is consistently adding free firmware updates to solve problems users find in the launch monitor.

The fact that Full Swing listens to feedback and continuously improves is a big deal.

This is not something many competitors are doing — and certainly not at this speed.

The most recent firmware update was the launch monitor’s 21st since it launched in October 2021.

We’re getting a launch monitor that evolves and improves over time.

For example, Full Swing’s spin rate wasn’t as accurate as rivals when it was first released.

But thanks to regular updates, our tests now show spin rate accuracy matching competitors.

They’ve also added Titleist RCT ball support and E6 Connect compatibility based on user feedback.

Cons of the Full Swing Kit

Extra Cost to see historical data

 I gotta say, this p$$ed me off! Paying $5k and then you got to pay an extra $99 per year subscription to see all your historical data, like sessions, and shot visualisations.

 I know these companies make money from subscriptions and that finances the software updates but i feel like once you take the shots, that data should be yours forever.

Minimum space indoors

As Full Swing uses a radar system for tracking, the monitor must be placed at least 10 feet behind the golf ball.

Then add in the roughly 8-10 feet you need in front of the ball.

You’re looking at a minimum of 18 feet required indoors to set it up. Not everyone has this kind of indoor space.

If you want to use your launch monitor indoors and don’t have this minimum space, go for a launch monitor with a camera-based tracking system like Skytrak Plus or Uneekor Eye Mini.

Inaccuracy under 40 yards indoors

In our indoor testing, Full Swing struggled to give accurate readings for chips and pitches under 40 yards.

Several shots were also not registering which was frustrating.

Full Swing has confirmed they’re working on a fix, but as of now, the issue remains unresolved.

No range ball normalization feature yet

The Full Swing Kit doesn’t let you change the ball type when using the monitor outdoors at the range.

Most other launch monitors in this price range allow you to switch to “range ball” mode, which adjusts for the reduced flight of lower-quality balls.

Without it, your yardages can be skewed, and practice sessions won’t translate as well to real-course performance.

Full Swing Kit Set-up and Connectivity

After unboxing and before you start anything, you need to charge the Full Swing, which can take up to 5 hours.

You’ve got 3 steps before you can start configuring the app and in total, this process took us around 10 minutes. 

• Download the full swing app
• Create a Full Swing account
• Configure the wi-fi on first time pairing

Newbies should have no problem with this set-up, the instructions are well-explained and quick. You’d have to try to screw it up. 

For subsequent setups, we had a boot-up time of approximately 90 seconds. 

This quick setup and shutdown feature lets us dive into practice sessions with minimal delay, saving valuable time compared to smaller launch monitors that require more tinkering before use.

Device Placement and Positioning

The Full Swing Kit uses radar tracking, which means it must be placed behind the golfer to read shots.

That’s a plus if you’re sharing the unit with both left- and right-handed golfers — no need to reposition like you would with some camera-based systems.

Here’s what you’ll need for proper setup:

• 10 feet behind the ball
• 8+ feet of ball flight in front

So you’re looking at around 18–20 feet of total depth for safe and accurate indoor use.

If you don’t have that kind of space, you’ll be better off with a camera-based monitor like the SkyTrak Plus or Uneekor Eye Mini, which work in tighter spaces.

Alignment is easy thanks to target line indicators on both the OLED screen and the app — no need for alignment sticks.

Thankfully. No levelling calibration or club stickers are needed either. More setup time saving. 

Connectivity

Wifi and Bluetooth connection were pretty seamless for us.

In our testing, we didn’t have any disconnections or stability problems.

Just note: there’s no USB wired connection option — everything runs wirelessly.

User Interface and Ease of Use

The In-Built Display

The Full Swing Kit features a simple and intuitive 5.3″ OLED colour display, letting you read your data directly from the device.

It’s easy to navigate — even for beginners — and the built-in screen means you don’t need to keep checking your iPad or iPhone for every shot.

You can leave your tablet at home and still complete a full practice session using just the device.

When we compared it to other launch monitors with built-in screens — like the Bushnell Launch Pro/GC3 and Uneekor Eye Mini — the Full Swing interface felt noticeably sleeker and more user-friendly.

One standout difference is the Full HD (1920×1080) colour display.

Unlike the monochrome screens on competitors, the Full Swing screen is far easier to read in low-light conditions, thanks to the higher contrast and resolution.

You can also customise which metrics are displayed by rearranging their order on the screen. This allows you to focus on what matters most to your game — something the other monitors don’t currently offer.

There is a limit to how many metrics can be shown at once:

• A grid of 4 data points
• Or a single data point in full view

You can select your top 4 priority metrics for quick access, then scroll up or down to see the rest.

To support newer users, Full Swing also provides helpful descriptions of each metric when you tap on it — great for learning what each number means.

One important note: your swing videos and shot data won’t be saved to your profile if you’re using the launch monitor without connecting to the app.

Full Swing Kit App

The words sleek and modern are thrown around far too often when describing tech apps.

But the Full Swing Kit iOS app actually earns those adjectives.

It just looks really good — super clean, nothing out of place. That’s rare for a launch monitor app. In our experience, most brands put all the effort into the hardware and skimp on the software.

Of course, looking good isn’t enough.

The app is also intuitive and easy to navigate, with minimal clutter. That means a short learning curve, even for new users.

Just like the in-built OLED screen, you can customise your virtual driving range view to show exactly what matters most to you:

• Split screen with your chosen data metrics and the virtual driving range
• All 16 metrics in one view
• A combination of dispersion chart and data metrics

The ‘Stats’ screen is also worth noting. The clean visuals and colour-coded charts make it easier to interpret club performance and accuracy at a glance — no digging through numbers or clunky layouts.

And when it comes to swing videos, sharing is seamless. Just tap the share icon and you can instantly send your shot via text, email, or social media — just two taps and done.

Apple Watch

The Full Swing Kit Apple Watch interface is easy to read and has a minimalist design we like.

Due to the small screen, you can only view one metric at a time — so if you want to check all 16 data points, be prepared to do a bit of scrolling.

In our testing, the best part is that you can quickly change clubs or star favourite shots with one swipe without needing to interact with your ipad or iPhone.

Shot Responsiveness Of Interface

In our testing, the shot feedback delay was less than a second with the Full Swing Kit. 

It’s pretty much an instant response by the time you look at your screen so you won’t have delays that can interrupt your flow.

Data Metrics

Full Swing measures 16 launch data parameters split between ball and club data: 

There’s a lot you can do with this set of metrics. For beginners, it includes all the key data needed to start improving your game.

You also don’t need to use reflective dots or clubface stickers to access club data. That’s a small but very welcome relief, especially if you’re practising often.

That said, we’re always comparing against the competition, and there are two metrics we’d love to see added both of which are available on a cheaper device like the Flightscope Mevo Plus:

Clubface Impact Location: Shows exactly where on the face you struck the ball. This helps diagnose mishits (like heel or toe strikes) and spot patterns that could affect consistency.

Descent Angle: Tells you the angle your ball approaches the ground. This helps assess whether your long irons can hold greens effectively — a key insight for better course performance.

Software Integration and Feature Breakdown

Virtual Driving Range In Full Swing App

Full Swing finally added a shot-tracing virtual range in mid-2024 to improve its indoor experience.

Previously, you’d only see data metrics and a dispersion chart populate when hitting shots — no visual ball flight.

Now, you get 3D ball trajectory with realistic shot shapes, on par with the SkyTrak Plus virtual range.

Being able to see your shot shape and pair it with data helps deepen your understanding of swing mechanics, especially if you’re working on shot shaping, spin control, or face-to-path.

The result?
Better decision-making, improved course management, and a confidence boost.

Full Swing has also confirmed they’re adding games and challenges soon.

This is an important step — competitors like SkyTrak Plus and Uneekor Eye Mini already offer these game improvement tools, so Full Swing needs to catch up here.

4K Video Replay

With Full Swing’s built-in 4K camera, you get crisp 1080p video replays of every shot — no need for external cameras or complicated setups.

Of the built-in replay systems we’ve tested, Full Swing delivers the cleanest quality by far.

• Great for tracking your progress and building confidence through visual proof
• Each swing is automatically recorded and saved
• It’s a hassle-free way to build a personal swing library over time

And its perfect for teachers as you can easily send those swing videos across email or socials with 2 clicks on the screen.

One minor issue:
Because the camera is behind and low to the ground, make sure the unit is placed far enough back to capture your full swing in the frame.

Integration with OnForm (for Coaches & Deeper Analysis)

If you’re a coach or advanced player, the Full Swing Kit integrates with OnForm, allowing for multi-cam swing analysis.

What used to require a full indoor studio setup can now be done outdoors, on the range, using Full Swing’s tech.

This dual feedback — visual and numerical — speeds up learning dramatically.

We love how this approach makes complex swing concepts like “face-to-path” and “dynamic loft” easier to understand and apply in real time.

Normalized data Available

You can edit environmental conditions like wind, humidity, and elevation in Full Swing’s settings.

Why does this matter?

• You can remove external factors like wind and elevation to create a baseline for consistent comparison.
  This helps isolate changes in performance that are due to your swing technique, not the weather or terrain.

• You can simulate the playing conditions of real courses, whether at sea level or high altitude. This gives you a deeper understanding of how your shots will react in different environments.
  More understanding means better decision-making on the course.

One big feature missing in this area is golf ball normalization.

• Currently, Full Swing doesn’t adjust the performance of range balls to estimate how a standard golf ball would perform under the same conditions.
  We hope they add this soon — because we want our practice data to reflect real on-course performance.

All iOS Devices Connected

With the Full Swing Kit you are fully integrated with the iOS ecosystem. 

You can access your synced data through:

• Ipad 
• Iphone
• Apple watch
• Audio feedback through your earphones

It’s convenient as you can access your performance metrics anywhere, whether you’re on the range, at home, or reviewing stats after a session.

The audio feedback was my particular favourite as you can make quick adjustments without needing to look at a screen.

Historical Data Analysis

Full Swing lets you review past yardages, dispersion charts, and club usage frequency.

You can spot trends quickly with these insights.

For example, I noticed my dispersion with a mid-iron was inconsistent, so I focused my practice on that club for a few weeks.

When you can direct your training toward the areas that need the most attention, you get more effective results.
That’s the power of having objective data to guide your improvement.

It’s also super useful for coaches — especially new ones — who can gain meaningful insight into your game before the first session even starts.

One small downside:
You’ll need to pay the $99/year subscription to access your full history of past sessions.

If you don’t, you’ll only be able to see data from your most recent session.

Virtual Course Simulator Integration

Launch monitors usually integrate with third party providers to allow their users to play virtual golf courses.

e6 connect

Full Swing includes access to 5 virtual courses and 15 practice ranges on E6 with your purchase with ipad or iPhone.

This not only saves money but ensures you can start playing premium courses immediately.

It’s a win when you consider rival brands like Skytrak Plus and Bushnell Launch Pro make you pay a yearly subscription to access simulated courses. 

5 courses don’t seem like much, and for $5k initial investment, it’s a little stingy. 

One of the 5 included courses is The Belfry. Challenging and definitely develops your game as your game management is constantly tested. 

What about the graphics?

They are immersive and the ball physics matched our standard shots. 

I would give them 7/10: way above cartoonish simulators like Awesome Golf but below a top-end competitor like GS Pro. 

It’s only available in the Full Swing app. 

GSPro

There’s always questions about GSPro integration and thankfully, the answer is yes. You get official integration with GSPro on your Full Swing Kit. 

Full Swing don’t charge you connector fees either to use GSPro.

Full Swing’s In-House Simulator

This may come as a surprise:

Full Swing does have their own proprietary simulator virtual courses.

You need to buy one of their bespoke studio packages, and that gets you everything you need for an indoor simulator set-up, like a hitting mat, their pre-loaded Full Swing laptop, and either a net or projector.

The hitting net package comes in at $7,000.

The studio screen package with a projector will cost you $9,500 at the time I’m writing this.

AND you must pay an ongoing $499 yearly subscription to maintain access to this software. 

Not cheap. At all. 

Hopefully, they can release an option soon to access this software without having to go all in on all these add-ons. 

This doesn’t make sense to get these studio packages if you already have the sim equipment included in the packages.

But newbies might prefer the ‘all-in’ approach here, where you buy everything at once.

Accuracy Testing

We don’t do traditional indoor head-to-head accuracy comparisons — and here’s why:

You can’t do like-for-like comparisons when radar and camera-based launch monitors measure data in fundamentally different ways.

Using one monitor (like Trackman or GCQuad) as a gold standard doesn’t make sense either— we have seen that they also have limitations.

What We Focus On Instead:

We look at consistency:
– Does the launch monitor consistently measure shots the same way?
– And does the data match what our pro golfer knows about his swing?

What We Found

• Outdoors, our Full Swing Kit review showed reliable performance — the numbers matched our pro golfer’s expectations. The shot shape, spin readings, and carry were a match for real-world readings.
• Indoors, everything looked solid except for shots under 40 yards.
  We noticed some no-reads and odd data around spin, spin axis, and carry distance — even while using RCT balls.

This isn’t a new issue. Many golfers online have reported similar problems, and Full Swing has acknowledged it’s something they’re working on.

It reinforces a known trend:
Radar units tend to struggle with spin indoors, especially on short shots.

Putting

Putting is not available on the Full Swing Kit as the device cannot track putting. 

If you’re using GS Pro or E6, the auto-putt feature will be selected so your hole will end once you reach the green.

Pricing

Right now the Full Swing Kit is retailing for $4,999. This is at the top end of the ‘mid tier’ price bracket for these units.

What do you get out of the box without a subscription?

• All 16 data points are included with your purchase. They don’t use a paywall for data metrics like some competitors. 
• Those data points and a dispersion chart will populate when you hit shots, you need a subscription to see the virtual range.
• The built-in 4k swing camera
• Access to e6 Connect Perpetual Package includes 5 courses and 15 practice areas for your iPhone or iPad.
• Audio playback of shot data

Premium at $99 per year (free trial of 30 days)

• Share all your shot data with your coach
• Virtual driving range becomes available
• View all your historical data and averages from all previous sessions
• Unlimited cloud-based storage so you can store all videos of your shots for review

Given the initial $5k cost, we were hoping the virtual driving range would be included with the purchase. 

$99 per year to access it won’t break the bank, but it’s a little annoying.

At least it’s better than Bushnell launch pro and their $499 per year sub to access a virtual range!

Full Swing Golf for KIT Software package $499 per year

• Access to Full Swing Kit’s in-house simulator courses
• You will need to pay the initial minimum studio package of $7k with hitting net or $9.5k with a projector to secure virtual course software
• You cannot access Full Swing’s virtual courses if you only buy the launch monitor

Portability

The Full Swing Kit weighs 4 lbs, and it will fit in golf bag side pockets, so you won’t have much trouble going from hole to hole. 

A handle would have been nice but it’s not a dealbreaker on portability for us.

What about travelling from home to the course?

Full Swing has included a protective carrying case with a handle with your purchase. 

We like that they didn’t skimp on quality with this water-resistant carry case. It’s tough, high-grade material. 

You would be confident dropping the Full Swing from a height in this case without damage being caused. 

The carry case design also gets Full Swing a bonus point for thoughtfulness.

Its curved shape matches the shape of standard golf bag sidepockets, so it fits snugly. 

Something else that makes this launch monitor super portable: 

A very quick setup outdoors. 

You don’t want to deal with a complicated setup procedure when you arrive at the range, as it eats into practice time.

With Full Swing, you plant the device down and can be playing in 2 minutes. No fussy alignment sticks or calibration.

Another point to note on Full Swing’s durability:

It’s got an Ingress Protection rating of IP54.

What does that mean?

It tells us how well the launch monitor can withstand dust and water.

The number 5 represents how well the Full Swing Kit can withstand solid particles like dust. This solid particles scale has a range from 0 to 6.

This means Full Swing is dust-protected, but not dust-sealed.

The second number 4 represents how well it can withstand liquids like water and this liquid scale goes from 0 to 9.

This means the Full Swing kit is only protected against splashing water.

Tht gives some peace of mind during outdoor sessions when you are in less-than-perfect weather conditions.

Battery Life

We tested Full Swing’s assertion that the launch monitor has 5 hours of battery life by keeping it on while we played 2 rounds in a row.

The Lithium-ion 8000mAh battery died midway through the second round and this worked out at just under 5 hours.

Full Swing’s battery life declaration is accurate.

In any case, you won’t need 5 hours of battery for many rounds, and definitely not a driving range session.

Customer Support and Warranty

I tested customer support in 2 scenarios:

• saying i’m a pre-sale potential customer
• Saying i already own the launch monitor and want some technical support

I like this test because I’ve found some companies’ post-sale support is nowhere near the level of their pre-sale support.

Once the sale/money is made, some brands don’t care.

Thankfully, Full Swing Kit’s support was good in both scenarios. 

You can ring the Full Swing team or use live chat. 

Their team is responsive in chat, so I got all of my set-up questions answered there in under 10 minutes.

In my experience, saying I was an existing customer versus a potential customer didn’t impact the service. 

You’ve also got a knowledge base on Full Swing’s website, which is packed with info if you want to go the DIY route. 

Warranty Coverage

What kind of warranty do you get with the Full Swing Kit?

• Length: 1-year warranty for parts and repairs from the date of delivery of the launch monitor.
• What’s Included: Covers defects in materials or workmanship.
• Ease of Claims: You’ve got to phone or email Full Swing and get a prepaid, shipping label and Return Material Authorization (RMA) number before you can return.

Unlike competitors like Skytrak Plus or Mevo Plus, Full Swing doesn’t offer an extended warranty.

Brand Reputation

Full Swing Golf was founded in 1986 by Floyd Arnold and is headquartered in Carlsbad,, California, USA. It was acquired in July 2021 by Bruin Sports Capital.

The Full Swing Launch Monitor was built in collaboration with 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, who asked Full Swing to make a launch monitor he could trust with every shot.

Other golf pros like Jon Rahm, Jordan Spieth, and Adam Scott are also now ambassadors.

The brand’s reputation has been improved further as Full Swing is now the officially Licensed Simulator Software of The PGA Tour and the new indoor professional golf league called the TGL.

Comparison With Competitors

mevo plus

The cheaper Mevo Plus gives you access to a wider selection of data metrics.

For an add-on fee, you can also unlock face impact location, letting you see exactly where the ball struck the clubface.

So if you’re after a comprehensive deep dive into your swing mechanics, Mevo Plus is a strong choice.

The Full Swing Kit is better suited for golfers who play mainly outdoors.

Manual alignment with Mevo Plus can be time-consuming, especially on the range.
With Full Swing, you just put the device down, place your ball, and get started — no fiddling required.

It also comes with an in-built screen, which the Mevo Plus lacks.

And when it comes to user interface, Full Swing wins again — its clean, modern look feels far more polished than Mevo’s older, more functional design.

Skytrak Plus

One big difference with the Skytrak Plus:

• Full Swing sits behind the golf ball and needs 18 feet of room depth
• SkyTrak Plus sits to the side of the golf ball and only needs a minimum of 10 feet of room depth.

So If you’ve got a smaller space, Skytrak Plus will be the obvious choice. 

Skytrak Plus is packed with game improvement tools like the wedge matrix, bag mapping, and practice randomizer. 

Full Swing is lacking in this department right now. 

Outdoors, Full Swing is the only choice here as Skytrak Plus does not read shots from grass accurately.

The Full Swing Kit Is Right For You If:

• You will be playing outdoors on the course or at the range a lot: Full Swing shines in outdoor environment. Why?
  • Because its super quick set-up, place the ball down and you’re ready go in less than 2 minutes. 
  • Radar technology makes it one of the most accurate launch monitors outdoors as it follows the full flight of the ball
  • In-built data screen on the launch monitor means you don’t need a second device like an ipad. Ideal for on the course.
  • Really portable and comes with carry case

• You want a very easy to use launch monitor: Everything just works smoothly with the Full Swing Kit launch monitor.
  • Minimal setup tasks to get playing.
  • Smooth integration with all devices, including your Apple Watch.
  • The most intuitive and slickest user interface of any launch monitor we have reviewed.
  • Its customisable data views mean you can quickly and easily prioritise metrics you care about most.

• You Want Advanced Metrics Without Overcomplication:
  • While it focuses on 16 essential shot metrics, it avoids overwhelming you with too much data.
  • A good balance of depth and simplicity and a way to stay focused on meaningful insights rather than getting distracted.

• You are an iOS fan:
  • Full Swing Kit ecosystem is built to cater for iOS users. You have direct integration with Apple Watch, AirPods, and iPad/iphone.

• You have a mix of lefties and righties:
  • You don’t need to move the Full Swing Kit each time a different-handed golfer is playing.

The Full Swing Kit Is Not Right For You If:

• You want built-in game improvement tools immediately:
  • Full Swing has only just added a virtual driving range so they are a bit behind in developing their own game improvement tools like closest to the pin or bag mapping. According to their support team, these features are coming, but they’re not here yet. 

• You want more virtual course access:
  • The Full Swing Kit comes with 5 E6 virtual courses included. That may be too little if you plan on playing lots of sim golf. The solution here would be buying a GS Pro subscription for $250 per year to access thousands of courses and online competitions.

• Have limited indoor space:
  • The Kit requires adequate room for setup and proper ball flight measurement. If you don’t have at least 18-20 feet of space of total room depth, you’ll struggle to get accurate readings.

• You require Android compatibility:
  • The KIT is designed with iOS users in mind. There is no Android compatibility at this time.
