What We Like About The Mevo Plus
Before we dive into a features breakdown, let’s look at the biggest pros of the Mevo Plus for us. We’ll follow that up with a list of our biggest cons.
Balance Between Casual and Serious Play
Whether you’re a casual or serious golfer, the Mevo Plus adapts to your needs.
It can be a user-friendly launch monitor for relaxed practice or a data powerhouse for in-depth analysis.
For the Casual Golfer
We appreciate that you can start off casually, using the E6 software compatibility to play fun simulator courses.
As your skill and interest level grow, you can gradually enhance the Mevo Plus by adding on advanced features.

Pro-Level Add-Ons
The Pro Package and Face Location add-ons transform Mevo Plus into a pro-level launch monitor.
These add-ons unlock advanced metrics, allowing you to dive deep into swing nuances like:
- Club path
- Clubface angle
- Attack angle
Combined with the game improvement features, Mevo Plus feels like having a built-in swing analyst guiding you through each shot, providing detailed insights to refine every aspect of your game.
Yes, the add-on fees can be annoying, but they provide a natural progression for casual golfers as they take the game more seriously.
Pro Tip:
If you’re serious about improvement, we recommend purchasing the Pro Package (which includes club data) from the start.
Lifetime Access
Once you purchase Mevo Plus add-ons, they’re locked in for life—a unique advantage over recurring subscriptions from competitors like SkyTrak Plus and Bushnell Launch Pro.
We’ll provide more details on these add-on packages later..
Automatic Video Clipping
Connect the video feature on the Mevo Plus to your phone or iPad’s camera and you have a powerful game improvement weapon.
Instantly, it clips a video recording of each shot you take with the corresponding data metrics for that shot without you needing to lift a finger.
At the end of the session, you have a library of videos and data built up.
A treasure trove of visual and graphical information to help improve your game.

Actually seeing your swings paired with data metrics takes away much of the guesswork.
For instance, during testing, we noticed several hook shots. By comparing them to our good shots, we could clearly see the issue: incomplete body rotation causing the hooks.
Perfect for Coaches
This feature is also ideal for sharing with your instructor. With both the video and data metrics, they’ll have all the info needed to make adjustments—almost like they were there at your session.
No extra subscription fee to play with simulation software
You get immediate access to E6 Connect simulation software with the Mevo Plus out of the box (on iOS and PC). No extra charges.
That’s access to 12 golf courses and 17 driving ranges ready to go.

Playing the simulated courses is where the real fun and learning begins so not paying additional fees for this is a big win.
Some rivals, like SkyTrak, lock you out of simulation features until you pay an additional yearly fee.
Thinking Long-Term:
This isn’t just about the initial savings. You’re getting continuous value without the headache of yearly bills.
Another Key Advantage:
You don’t need a fancy gaming PC to run Mevo Plus.
- It pairs with iOS, so you can use your iPad for the E6 simulator software and stream it to a monitor—making a home simulator setup possible without the extra computer cost.
- If you do use a PC, it doesn’t need to be high-spec. A regular PC will work just fine.
One caveat: You’ll need enough space to use Mevo Plus, which we’ll discuss in the cons section.
Closest to pro-level at this price, Mevo Plus delivers extensive data, virtual courses out of the box, and no recurring fees—a complete package for golfers seeking value and performance.
Buy Mevo Plus
Left /right handed players
The Mevo Plus is perfect if you have of mix of left-handers and right-handers using the unit like us.
No need to move the unit every time someone switches.
Unlike with the Bushnell Launch Pro or Skytrak Plus, you won’t be playing musical chairs with the Mevo Plus.
A big-time saver.
Integration With GS Pro
If you’re a PC user and comfortable investing in a $250 annual subscription, pairing the Mevo Plus with GS Pro’s simulator software is a game changer.
Mevo Plus thankfully integrated with GS Pro in their 2023 update.
The graphics are insane, definitely, the best we’ve seen in simulation software.

The level of accurate detail for real-life challenges with Mevo Plus is top drawer.
For instance, if you’re hitting off concrete on the cart path (a shot we know all too well), the speed and spin adjust accordingly, providing a very realistic simulation experience.
Enhanced Data Analysis with GS Pro
You can pull in your Mevo Plus face impact data into GS Pro’s graphical interface, giving you all the data you need to analyze and improve.
Yes, GS Pro comes with an added cost, but for us, it’s streets ahead of other simulation integrations we’ve seen.
With GS Pro, you also have access to a giant community of online golfers to play with any time of day.
What We Don’t Like About The Mevo Plus
Minimum Space Required Compared To Camera-Based Launch Monitors
Since the Mevo Plus uses radar technology, it requires extra space behind the player to work effectively.
How Much Space Do You Need?
- Ideally, 8 feet behind the player is recommended, but in our testing, we found it can work with 7 feet.
- You’ll also need 8-10 feet from the golf ball to the hitting screen, totaling a minimum of 16 feet for optimal setup.
This is space that not everyone is lucky enough to have—so keep this in mind when considering the Mevo Plus.

Notes on 16 feet estimate: our recommendation is actually 18-20 feet total room depth.
- While other guides and FlightScope recommend 8 feet from ball to screen, our testing shows 10-12 feet is more reliable for accurate data capture.
- Also, remember to add 1 foot for the space between the hitting screen and the back wall.
Why Room Depth Matters
Camera-based launch monitors, like the SkyTrak Plus, can be positioned right in the hitting zone to the side of the golf ball. This setup doesn’t require extra room behind, making it a great advantage if you have limited indoor space.
Mevo Plus performs excellently indoors, but the ‘minimum space’ requirement is something to keep in mind.
Not Built for ‘On the Course’ play
Mevo Plus is not designed for use on the golf course during a round.
Why?
You’d need to constantly realign it every time you move to your next shot.

Trying to keep up with the pace of play while adjusting your launch monitor is no easy task.
And let’s be honest—it won’t win you many fans on the course either!
Our Recommendation:
Stick to using Mevo Plus on the driving range outdoors for the best experience.
Short Chipping and Putting
Yes…shock horror…another launch monitor that struggles with putting!
Mid-priced options like Mevo Plus have not perfected putting yet.
For most of us, we are happy to auto-putt and focus on the other elements of our game.
While they do have simulated putting it’s not something we’d recommend for focused putting practice.

We’ve noticed some inconsistent readings and balls veering hard left or right.
Can it be calibrated? Sure, but it requires a lot of tweaking and adjustments—not the smooth, convenient experience we expect from a launch monitor.
Short Chips
Short chips of 20 yards or less aren’t always picked up. You might chip a ball thinking it’ll go one way, but Mevo Plus might tell you a different story. A bit frustrating, right?
Good News for GS Pro Users
If you’re using GS Pro software with Mevo Plus, you can adjust settings to improve its chipping accuracy.
- GS Pro lets you fine-tune the ball placement in relation to Mevo Plus, which made a noticeable difference in picking up short chips accurately.
While this fix helps, it does come with a dependency on external software—and of course, an added cost.
Our Video Review
Ease of Set-Up and Calibration
Some key pointers before setting the Mevo Plus indoors:
- Avoid Interference: Don’t place fluorescent lights, fridges, or cooling fans directly in front of the launch monitor, as they can interfere with radar tracking.
- Use LED Lighting: For best results, switch to LED lights instead of fluorescent.
- Use Metallic Stickers or RCT Balls: Since you have limited ball flight indoors, use metallic stickers on your ball or opt for RCT (radar capture technology) golf balls.
- Mevo Plus includes 100 aluminum stickers with your purchase.
- Our tests showed that spin rate readings were more accurate with RCT balls than with standard golf balls indoors.
- Maximize Ball Flight: The more ball flight you can achieve indoors, the better your accuracy. Aim for at least 12-13 feet between the golf ball and impact screen or net.
- You’ll also need a minimum of 8 feet between Mevo Plus and the golf ball for reliable tracking.
- Ensure a Flat Surface: Mevo Plus should sit on the same level as your hitting area. When the launch monitor was slightly lower than the hitting mat, our metrics were skewed. After raising it to match the height of the hitting mat, accuracy improved significantly.
Getting Started
Initial setup is straightforward with a quick-start guide and a QR code for easy app access.
What About Alignment?
From our testing, taking a few extra calibration steps can make a big difference in accuracy. Though it may take a couple of minutes each time, it’s well worth it.
Not quite as seamless as the Bushnell Launch Pro or SkyTrak Plus, but still manageable for non-techy golfers.
Mevo Plus has a built-in 5MP camera for alignment along the target line, making the process smoother.

Setup Tips For Mevo Plus
- Adjust Tee Surface Height: Ensure the tee surface matches your ball position for consistent readings.
- Set the Tilt:
- Tilt adjustments used to be a pain in the a**, but Flightscope’s 2023 Mevo upgrade introduced a kickstand that extends directly to 12 degrees tilt—the ideal position for accuracy.
- No more manual adjustments, making setup quicker and easier!
- Check the Roll:
- Roll should be set to 0 degrees. This ensures the device is perfectly level, with no side-to-side tilt.
- If roll isn’t at 0 degrees, you’ll likely encounter errors in the ball’s launch measurements.
- App Assistance: Slightly off in setup? The app has you covered, offering guidance on adjustments.
Outdoor Setup
Setting up outdoors also takes a few minutes, especially in a fixed position like a driving range bay.
- A grass range bay is easy to set up, though you may need to move around occasionally to avoid divots in the hitting area.
- Aligning everything behind your bay can be awkward, so make sure the device is secure from being accidentally kicked by other golfers as they walk past.
📋 Keep in mind for golf course use: It’s not a ‘set it and forget it’ kind of device like the Bushnell Launch Pro. Each time you use it and are moving to the next shot, you need to ensure it’s placed just right and calibrated. This means it’s not built for on-the-course play.
RCT Golf Balls
If you’re aiming for marginal improvements in accuracy with your Mevo Plus indoors, consider using Titleist RCT golf balls instead of the provided ball stickers.
Why RCT Balls?
- These golf balls include a radar marker that helps radar-based launch monitors, like the Mevo Plus, capture key shot data—especially spin rate.
- Limited ball flight indoors can make it challenging for radar monitors to accurately read spin rates, but RCT balls help bridge this gap.
In our testing, spin rate readings were noticeably more accurate with RCT balls than with standard golf balls.
User Interface
Unlike the Bushnell Launch Pro, the Mevo Plus does not have a display screen built in to view data.
You connect to their official app (FS Golf App) through an ipad/iphone, apple watch, android or PC.
Let’s take a look at the user interface features of this FS Golf app.
Data Display and Customization
You can view all your essential data parameters with every shot: carry distance, smash factor, spin rate, and more.
Upgrade Options
- Pro Package: Unlocks additional club data, including club path, face-to-path, and angle of attack.
- Face Impact Location Add-On: Adds a 3D graphical display showing exactly where you hit the ball on the clubface. (More on that later.)
Data Margins
Another great feature is Data Margins. Choose your minimum and maximum values for any metric, and the interface provides automatic visual feedback:
- If your shot falls within your set range, it’s easy to spot.
- Go over the max—for instance, a spin rate outside your ideal—and the interface highlights it in red, letting you quickly see where each shot may need improvement.
This setup makes it simple to see, at a glance, where each shot might be underperforming.

Customization Options
What about customization? The Mevo Plus lets you easily arrange your data parameter tiles, so you can prioritize the metrics most important to your game.
- Rearrange Metrics: Position key metrics to your training, like launch angle or apex height, at the top of your screen for quick monitoring.
- Remove Unwanted Metrics: Double-tap on iPad or click on PC to delete metrics that aren’t your current focus, giving you a clean, personalized display.
We found this feature especially helpful for keeping focused on specific areas needing improvement.
Data Display
The data display works well on an iPhone too but you will need to scroll to get all the numbers if you want to see every data point.
Given the screen size, that’s to be expected.
Sleep Feature for Bad Shots
A unique feature we love is the “sleep” option for bad shots. Here’s how it helps:
- Filter out shots you don’t want to be factored into your averages—without having to delete them.
- This feature keeps your metrics accurate, avoiding the skewing effect of a few outliers or shanks.
This level of customization and control is ideal for honing in on the numbers that matter, keeping practice sessions focused and effective.

What about environmental settings?
Wondering about environmental customization? You can mirror local weather conditions for more accurate data and adjust elevation if you’re practicing at a high altitude.
For anyone who’s played at a high altitude, you will know this makes a big difference to your shot choice!
Performance Analysis
All your session data is saved online in the cloud for later review. So if you play with your iPhone at the range, you can access all this data when you get home on your iPad or PC.
We touched on the video clipping in the ‘What We Like’ section:
The video capture feature brings the Mevo to the ‘Pro’ level as an analysis tool. Here’s what it can do:
- Automatic Recording: Every swing is automatically recorded, clipped, and stored, creating a seamless video and data library.
- Instant Playback: View each swing with data overlay for immediate feedback.
It’s visual feedback combined with in-depth data—a goldmine for improvement, especially if you’re working with a coach.
Shot Feedback Delay
The Mevo Plus is quick to display data post-shot.
In our testing, it’s under a second.
The Skytrak Plus has around 2 seconds delay so Mevo Plus will be your choice if you want that instant feedback.
You can also read our Skytrak Plus review for more details on its features.
Any differences in the FS App for PC?
One big difference we liked with the FS Golf app on PC is the multi-page layout on a single monitor
This is something you can’t do on the tablet version.

During our testing, we found that viewing shot trajectory, impact location, and shot data all on a split screen significantly accelerated our learning process.
Some additional PC-specific advantages:
USB Camera Support: Perfect for high-speed video recording if that’s part of your training.g.
Data Export: Export your data in CSV format, a feature not available on the tablet version.
Other user interface integrations
Audio
We love the audio feature when paired with your iPhone.
Pop in your AirPods, and you’ll hear your chosen data points after each shot. This feature saves time both at home and on the range since you’re not constantly looking at your device for metrics.
It’s also a big win for visually impaired golfers, adding a level of accessibility that’s often overlooked.
Apple Watch Integration
This will be your favorite part if you’re an Apple Watch user.
You can sync the Mevo Plus with your watch and get all the shot data on your wrist. Switch clubs or check data without fumbling with your phone or iPad.
It’s a game-changer, especially if you’re on the range.

Data Metrics
Your Mevo Plus will come pre-packaged with the following data metrics:

With Mevo Plus, you’ll get all the essential ball data metrics and a selection of club data metrics.
One highlight is the angle of attack metric, included right out of the box—a feature missing in some competitors, like Skytrak.
Pro Package Add-On
To access the complete range of club data metrics, you’ll need to invest in the Pro Package. Here’s what you get:
- A one-time fee of $1,000—no ongoing subscription required.
- Lifetime access to enhanced club metrics.
This Pro Package includes crucial data points that help you identify swing issues and make targeted adjustments, resulting in faster improvements as you see exactly where to focus after each shot.
Face Impact Location Add-On
Mevo Plus also has a face impact location feature add-on so you can see where on the face the ball strikes.
It’s like having a microscopic view of how your club interacts with the ball, offering insights into your swing you probably never considered.
We also found the shot grouping feature helpful for recognizing off-center strike patterns in our sessions too.

With the face impact tool, you get exceptional clarity over your swing data.
Small errors—like off-center strikes—that might slip by unnoticed can now be spotted and corrected on the spot.
To use the face impact location feature effectively, proper lighting is essential.
Make sure your space has at least 300 lux or 300 lumens per square meter.
This add-on is priced at $449-499, and it’s a one-time fee—no ongoing costs.
High-End Data, Without the High-End Cost
We think Mevo Plus, with the Pro Package and face impact location, stacks up well against the $20k launch monitors, like the GC Quad.
- You’re getting nearly all the key metrics you need.
- But at a fraction of the cost.
For those looking to achieve pro-level insights without breaking the bank, Mevo Plus is hard to beat.
Software Integration and Features You Get With The Mevo Plus
FS App For iOS and Android
We talked about the user interface benefits of the FS Golf App. Now let’s look at how you can use it with the Mevo Plus to improve your game.
On login, you get 6 different session options:
- Full Swing Session
- Challenges
- Swing Training Session
- Review Session
- Chipping Session
- Putting Session

Full Swing Session
Full Swing mode is the bread-and-butter virtual driving range of the Mevo Plus.
This mode is built for any golf shots going more than 25 yards so expect to spend lots of time in this mode.

In the user interface section, we shared that all data parameters will be displayed on the screen and can be moved or deleted to suit your preference..
Want to optimize for consistency on the range?
Use the range ball option. This will normalize the distances, as range balls don’t produce consistent data on their own.
All shots and sessions are recorded so you have a digital record of your progress. This lets you track your improvement over time.
Swing Training Session
Looking to increase club head speed without affecting technique? This mode is for you.
And here’s the best part:
No golf ball needed. Just swing your club or speed stick in front of the radar, and get real-time feedback on your speed and swing plane.
This mode makes it easy to work on boosting power while keeping your swing mechanics in check.
📢 FYI: If you don’t have the pro package, you will only see the club speed column on your app, v-plane and h-plane won’t appear. So without the pro package, this feature is pretty useless!
Chipping Session
Chipping mode has the same setup as full swing mode.
The only difference is we’re hitting shots less than 20 yards in this mode.
You won’t get a 3d ball tracer view of your chip shots, only an over the top view like the image below.
3D club analysis is also not available in this mode.
All the pro package data will remain viewable in the chipping mode.

Putting Session
You do have access to putting mode without the pro package which is a win.
And it comes with video functionality.
Flightscope give you a virtual stimpmeter so if you know the speed of your greens you can adjust the stimp distance before starting your session.
What about data parameters?
The Mevo Plus will give you three data metrics in putting mode.
- Launch speed
- Total distance
- Ball direction
A basic, simple mode that won’t change our putting game. Mainly because we prefer a putting mat!
Challenges
In this mode, you have access to 3 games:

- PGA/LPGA challenge: This challenge gives us a benchmark, allowing you to see how your stats, like carry distance and club speed, measure up against those on the PGA or LPGA Tours
- Range competition: choose our target distance and aim to hit it within a specific range, scoring points based on accuracy. which helps practice accuracy.
- Long drive competition: The aim is simple: hit the ball as far as you can. A good one against friends.
We love these gamification features as they tap into your competitive nature.
And the added bonus:
They make practice feel less like… well, practice and more like a game.
Review Session
The clue is in the name!
Every session is sorted by date in this folder for quick access.
Dispersion charts, video, and individual shots are all there so you can track progress over time.
FS Skills App
The FS Skills App is solely built for targeted challenges and assessment.
Only on iOS though, no PC app available sorry.
Customizable Challenges
While the FS Golf app includes preset challenges, FS Skills lets you create fully customizable games.
Why is that useful?
Custom games allow you to focus on specific weaknesses and zone in on areas that need improvement—making practice more impactful.

For example, I was struggling with tight fairway layups of 120-140 yards so I set different targets in that zone.
The only issue was some of the shot readings were too long in our tests based on known distances.
You score points based on accuracy, making this a fun, competitive app to use with friends. Plus, you can set a time limit for each shot to add a bit of drama!
Oh and if you are wondering…
We don’t know why Flightsope doesn’t merge the features of the FS Skills app into the FS Golf app. It’s a question we have asked.
Closest to pro-level at this price, Mevo Plus delivers extensive data, virtual courses out of the box, and no recurring fees—a complete package for golfers seeking value and performance.
Buy Mevo Plus
FS Multicam App
Do you want to see your terrible swing from multiple angles simultaneously?
The FS Multicam app will make that nightmare a reality.
Just kidding, I’m sure your swing is lovely…I’m just projecting.
It automatically records and syncs videos from up to four cameras (including the Mevo Plus’s own internal camera) for instant review on your iOS devices.

For us, the best setup was an iPhone on a stand capturing a full side view of our swing.
We didn’t opt for additional cameras.
We did encounter one issue:
One issue we noticed was the slow camera shutter speed.
The camera shutter speed felt a bit slow, with a frame rate of around 60 bps.
If Flightscope could update the app to record at a higher speed, it would greatly improve shot assessment, as some parts of the swing appear blurry.
But what we did get, we liked!
A clear view of the top of our swing from the side angle.
Multiple shots and clips of our swing at this angle give a coach a treasure trove of info to work with.
A unique bonus? You can draw directly on the screen—perfect for coaching and highlighting adjustments in real time.
Simulation Software Integration
Check out the ‘What We Like About The Mevo Plus’ section at the top of this article for my thoughts on the simulation software offering.
In short, getting 12 fun E6 courses included with your Mevo+ purchase without a subscription is a steal.
FYI..That E6 license will work for both iOS and PC.

And we can’t forget.
Official integration with GS Pro which is the cherry on top.
With GS Pro, you get access to over 500 courses on one of the most realistic simulators out there.
Just a heads up—it only works on PC.
GS Pro is an added subscription at $250 per year, but here, quality comes with the price.
There is another simulation software that we did not include in our ‘What We Like’ section and that’s TGC 2019.
TGC 2019 is also compatible with Mevo Plus and provides a one-time purchase option for under $1,000—no ongoing subscriptions.
Like GS Pro, it’s also PC-only, but we have to admit—we heavily lean toward GS Pro in this battle.
The Good: TGC 2019’s Features
- Huge course selection: Access to a mind-blowing 150,000 courses
- Active online tournaments: Join a scene with a community of players
The Drawbacks of TGC 2019
- Gameplay issues: Strange spin readings, awkward first bounces, and glitches on uphill lies
- Limited Mevo Plus features: Unlike GS Pro, TGC 2019 doesn’t integrate the Face Impact feature
Integration With Stack System
For speed training enthusiasts, here’s some great news: Mevo Plus integrates directly with the Stack system.
The best part: No need for the FS Golf app.
Just turn on Mevo Plus, open the Stack app, and they’ll connect automatically.
Easy as that.
How It Works
- Start swinging: The Stack app automatically records your data as you go.
- Missed shots? No problem: Use the re-do button if Mevo Plus misses a shot or gives an odd reading.
Simple and rather painless if you need a clubhead speed program.
Mevo Plus Accuracy Testing
Our Accuracy Testing Notes
- We focus on some of the key data metrics below, for a full list of metrics check the data tables at the bottom of this section.
- We compared the Mevo Plus against the Trackman with 3 golf clubs, the driver, 6 iron, and a pitching wedge to see how it performs with different shot types. We got 2 golfers of different abilities (7 handicap golfer and 18 handicap golfer) to take 5 shots each to see how the launch monitor handles different swing speeds. We then got an average difference between the launch monitors from those 10 shots.
- We used RCT (radar capture technology) golf balls for testing to improve spin readings. There were no italicized spin readings for Trackman
- The normalization settings are the same between the Mevo Plus launch monitor and our benchmark launch monitor the Trackman, ie sea level, humidity, and temperature are the same.
- Mevo Plus is set up in front of the trackman with a foot difference as the trackman can see around objects. This was not ideal for testing but we needed to do this to make sure club path readings would line up the same. Both units were set up at the same aligned target using offset features.
- We had 8 feet behind the ball and 12 feet of ball flight in front.

Carry Distance Testing Results
Mevo Plus reported the following carry distance differences:
- an average of 7.27 yards less carry distance with the driver against the trackman over 10 shots.
- With the 6 iron, it was 3.59 yards less on Mevo Plus
- 2.27 yards less with the pitching wedge.
Across the board, Mevo Plus reported less carry distance to trackman.
Total Distance Testing Results
Total distance was also naturally less across the board on Mevo Plus vs Trackman:
- 8.64 less for driver
- 5.87 yards less for 6 iron
- 3.10 yards less for pitching wedge
Spin Rate Testing Results
For Spin rate:
- the driver had an average difference of 188 rpms between Mevo Plus and Trackman.
- It was 102 rpms difference for 6 iron
- 59 rpms for pitching wedge.
Ball Speed Testing Results
Ball speed had the following differences:
- 0.99 mph more driver ball speed on Mevo Plus than Trackman,
- 1.73mph more ball speed with 6 iron on Mevo Plus
- 0.6 mph more ball speed with pitching wedge on Mevo Plus.
Launch Angle Testing Results
Launch angle had the following differences:
- over 1-degree difference with the driver at 1.16 degrees average difference
- 0.77 degrees difference with 6 iron
- 0.33 degrees difference with pitching wedge
Spin Axis Testing Results
Spin axis had some significant differences in our testing between the 2 units.
- 2.7 degrees difference on average for driver
- 2.55 degrees for 6 iron
- 1.45 degrees for pitching wedge
Spin axis is a weakness of radar units like Trackman and Mevo Plus indoors as they struggle to read the full spin axis due to limited tracking distance
In our experience, spin axis readings on higher-speed shots can be unreliable, making it difficult to fully trust these devices for precise spin axis measurements in an indoor environment
Club Path Testing Results
Club path showed an average difference of:
- 1.01 degrees with driver between Trackman and Mevo Plus
- 0.55 degrees difference with the 6 iron
- 0.3 degrees difference with pitching wedge.
Face-to-Target Testing Results
Face-to-target results showed:
- 0.61 degrees difference with driver between Mevo Plus and Trackman
- 0.26 degrees difference with 6 iron
- 0.37 degrees difference with pitching wedge
Face-to-Path Testing Results
For face-to-path results were as follows:
- With the driver, the difference was 0.7 degrees between Mevo Plus and Trackman
- 0.75 degrees difference with 6 iron
- 0.35 degrees difference with pitching wedge
Ball Flight Test Outdoors
We also wanted to test how Mevo Plus virtual ball flight matched up to real ball flight outdoors at the driving range.

We hit some different shots like low fades high draws and some wayward shots.
The graphics on the mevo plus virtual range are pretty basic.
They remind us of games from the early 2000s.
The graphics will show you fades and draws like real life but they are a bit more subtle when compared to the ball flight on a rival like Skytrak Plus.
Can Mevo Plus Handle Extreme Shots?
Yes!
We tested extreme shots like shanks as some launch monitors have trouble with these shots but the Mevo Plus performed well.
The spin axis and shot shape on the virtual range closely matched what we saw on the real range, showing reliable tracking even on mishits.

Putting
Check out the ‘Cons’ section at the top of the article for our thoughts on the putting feature of the Mevo Plus.
But here are a few more things to consider:
Key Points to Know
- Use the Right Balls
Stick to regular golf balls—no dots, metallic stickers, or RCT balls for putting. While these work fine for other shots, keeping it simple with plain balls is best for putting accuracy. - Refine Your Putting Technique
Want fewer misreads? Lift the club head up and out of the radar’s path after contact. This technique tends to improve reading accuracy. - Choose Your Software Carefully
From our testing, E6 and GS Pro perform well with putting on Mevo Plus, while TGC 2019 can sometimes struggle with misreads or missed reads altogether. - Level Your Surface
Always ensure the surface from the ball to the screen is level—a simple way to avoid issues.
Our Main Takeaway on Putting
If you’re serious about improving your putting, we recommend investing in an indoor putting green.
Technology
The Mevo Plus combines 2 elements for its technology.
3D doppler tracking golf radar
I’m going to have to get technical for this part!
The launch monitor has a built-in radar system that emits microwave signals from an oscillator (think of it as a heartbeat sending out waves) through an antenna.
How Does It Work?
When these signals hit a moving object, like a golf ball, part of the energy reflects back with a change in frequency—known as the Doppler shift.
What Data Does This Give Us?
This reflection provides key data parameters, including:
- Ball speed
- Launch angle
- Spin rate
All essential metrics to help you understand and improve your shots

Image processing
The Flightscope Mevo Plus uses its internal camera to take high-speed images of your golf shot at impact and in flight.
Combine these two and you’ve got Flightscope’s fancy name: fusion tracking technology.
The net result for you:
Better accuracy everywhere but particularly on shorter shots like wedges.
One Important Tip:
Fusion tracking relies on good lighting.
For best results, use a strong, non-flickering LED light to support accurate readings.
And you don’t need to have the pro package to get this fusion technology.
It’s included with the basic purchase.
Portability
The Mevo Plus small size is a huge plus for us.
From our testing, it’s the best for portability because of its lightweight design.
At just over 1 lb, it’s incredibly easy to carry, making it perfect for taking to the range and golf trips.
We measured the dimensions of the Mevo+, and it’s impressively compact at only 8.2 inches long – perfect for fitting into any golf bag.
It takes up much less room than some of the bulkier options we’ve seen.
I took a photo of the launch monitor in my bag to give you a better sense of its size.

Battery Life
The 2023 Mevo hardware upgrade brought a 50% increase in battery life, boosting it from two to three hours.
This longer battery life is a big win, especially for extended practice sessions or rounds of Sim golf.
But in our tests we’ve seen that Mevo+ lithium polymer battery drop far quicker than the claimed 3 hours.
On the course, we saw power drop after a little over two hours.
Our takeaway? Get an external USB battery pack.
Now we are covered for battery even if we had a super slow 4-hour plus round.
And the added bonus is the external battery helps to prolong the lifespan of the Mevo Plus internal battery.
Flightscope is aware of this problem as they sell their own battery pack on the website.

What about indoors?
Can’t I just keep the Mevo Plus plugged in and charging at all times?
Yes, but there is a process to doing it!
You should follow the below sequence to avoid draining the internal Mevo Plus battery when plugged in:
- Ensure you plug in the Mevo Plus BEFORE turning it on.
- Wait over a minute for it to fully cycle or for one of the lights to turn on
- Then you can turn the power on.
- This means the device will run off the USB plug power and not the internal battery.
📋 FYI: Be prepared for the internal battery to give out after a year to 18 months. On the bright side, replacement internal batteries will not break the bank, you should get one for around $30. You will know the battery is failing if you suddenly start getting lots of ‘calculated’ readings.
Mevo Plus Pricing
Mevo Plus pricing can get a little confusing when you consider the upgrade packages and the limited edition version.
Let’s break it down:
As of October 2024, the Mevo Plus without addons/upgrades costs between $1,979 and $2,199.
At that price, you get 20 data points as the image below shows. You will be missing a number of club data metrics that come with the Pro Package.

You can play 12 E6 simulation courses with this basic package too and 17 practice ranges.
Add Ons: Pro Package
Adding the Pro package will cost $1,000 (sometimes on sale for $899).

The following data parameters will be unlocked with this Pro package:
- face to path
- face to target
- dynamic loft
- club path
- vertical swing plane
- horizontal swing plane
- low point
- vertical descent angle
- curve
- club speed profile
- club acceleration profile
This additional data is unlocked on Flightscope’s applications like FS Golf App and on simulation software like E6.
The club analysis feature is also unlocked on the FS Golf app with this purchase.
What Does Club Analysis Offer?
This tool provides detailed swing metrics, such as:
- Impact speed
- Club path
- Face angle
I know…this seems like data overload…
But what’s cool about the Club Analysis tool is how it presents this data.
We can view it in 3D, allowing us to rotate and examine our swing from any angle.
You can pause, zoom in, and analyze every detail. Perfect for visual learners.
Both these upgrades are one-time payments.
Thankfully you don’t need to pay ongoing subscriptions like the Skytrak Plus or Bushnell Launch Pro.
Add Ons: Face Impact Location
You can add face impact location for between $449 and $499. This will give you a graphical image of the club impact for every shot.
Two other data metrics are also added with this upgrade:
- vertical impact
- lateral impact.
Remember you need good lighting for the face impact location feature to work properly.
A minimum of 300 lux or 300 lumens per square meter.
Customer Service
Best Advice for Customer Support?
Always ring.
Emails tend to take a back seat.
Flightscope support is no different. I spent 10 minutes on the phone with setup questions and got all the answers I needed.
The same question over email? I waited over 48 hours. So, if you’re like me and prefer a quick response, calling is a no-brainer.
Additional Support Options
Flightscope also offers live chat support, which is great for less technical, straightforward questions. The team is responsive and quick to help.
Does Flightscope Listen to Feedback?
Yes, they do!
Flightscope actively listens to user feedback and suggestions, continually improving firmware and software.
For example, they’re aware of the lighting issue with the face impact location feature and are working on a fix
Warranty
The Mevo Plus comes with a 12-month warranty…double what Skytrak offers.
We like that you can also access an extended warranty through the Mevo Plus Shield Protection plan.

Bear in mind it’s not cheap….$600 per year for a maximum of 3 years after your original purchase.
This Shield protection plan covers you against:
- Accidental hits from golf balls or clubs to the Mevo Plus
- Accidental drops of the unit
Plus, you get unlimited free repairs—a valuable benefit that adds peace of mind.
📢 FYI: Theft and damage from golf carts are not covered!
Returns
You can return your Mevo Plus within 30 days for a full refund.
However, a 15% restocking fee applies if you return the Mevo Plus without its original packaging or printed guides.
Important Note on Software
Any software you buy, like the pro package add-on, is non-refundable.
If you purchased both the Mevo Plus and a software package, you’ll only be refunded for the device—not the software add-on.
Changelog
We always like to see the changelogs for our launch monitors as their own standalone page on their website. It just screams transparency and shows the development team is active with updates.
Flightscope doesn’t have a changelog but it would be an appreciated addition.
For both the Mevo Plus and FS Golf app.
Brand Reputation
Flightscope, the makers of the Mevo Plus was established in 1989 and originally measured ballistics in the defense industry. This is where they first tested and marketed their Doppler radar technology. They still operate in the defense sector in dozens of countries.
They were one of the very first companies to release a consumer model launch monitor. For example, they released the Flightscope Prime in January 2009, the first wireless launch monitor.
They are seen as a leader in the personal launch monitor industry and their technology is highly respected given the defense sector crossover.
Comparison with previous models
Flightscope Mevo Vs Mevo Plus
Let’s break down the key differences between these two models:
- Data Metrics:
- The Mevo covers the basics with 8 shot parameters—like ball speed, carry distance, and launch angle.
- The Mevo Plus? It takes it up a notch with 16 data points, adding extras like horizontal launch angle, lateral landing, and angle of attack.
- The Pro Package upgrade for the Mevo Plus unlocks additional goodies like club path and dynamic loft.
- Simulated Golf:
- The original Mevo? No virtual golf options.
- The Mevo Plus, on the other hand, gives you access to 12 virtual courses and practice range options through the TruGolf E6 app. Perfect for those indoor practice sessions!
- App Compatibility:
- The original Mevo doesn’t support the FS Skills app or the Multicam app.
- But the Mevo Plus? It’s got both, so you get more ways to track and improve your game.
- Device Compatibility:
- With the original Mevo, the FS Golf app only works on iOS and Android—no PC support.
- The Mevo Plus lets you use the FS Golf app on PC so you have more flexibility across platforms.
Comparison with competitors
Mevo Plus Vs Skytrak Plus

SkyTrak Plus is one of Mevo Plus’s closest competitors; both are in a similar price range and offer comparable features.
Let’s look at indoor space requirements first.
If space is limited, SkyTrak Plus might be a better fit, needing only 10-12 feet of room depth indoors.
In contrast, Mevo Plus requires at least 16 feet of depth, though we recommend 18-20 feet for optimal performance. If you have a smaller space, Mevo Plus may not be ideal.
What about left and right-handed players?
Mevo Plus allows seamless switching between left and right-handed players without repositioning the unit—something SkyTrak Plus lacks. With SkyTrak, you’ll need to move the unit each time a different-handed player joins, which can get frustrating.
How do they differ in software access?
- Mevo Plus: Includes 12 courses on E6 Connect right out of the box.
- SkyTrak Plus: Requires an annual subscription for simulation features; $250 per year for 15 courses on E6 Connect or $350 per year for SkyTrak’s in-house Course Play simulator.
With SkyTrak’s subscription, you also get game improvement tools like wedge matrix and bag mapping. Mevo Plus, on the other hand, only charges one-time payments for add-ons.
Focusing on outdoor play?
Go with Mevo Plus.
SkyTrak Plus can’t read shots accurately on grass; it requires a golf mat or tee outdoors.
You can use the Mevo Plus outdoors on the grass with no problems.
You can see a detailed comparison of these two launch monitors in our review.
Mevo Plus Vs Bushnell Launch Pro
Another close competitor, the Bushnell Launch Pro also wins on space requirements against the Mevo Plus.
Like SkyTrak Plus, Bushnell Launch Pro needs only 10 feet of room depth, making it another solid choice if you’re limited on space.
Lefties and Righties?
As with SkyTrak Plus, Launch Pro requires repositioning for each left or right-handed player, unlike Mevo Plus, which switches seamlessly between players.
What about pricing flexibility?
With Mevo Plus, you have more flexibility:
- Bushnell Launch Pro starts at $2,000 for a model that provides ball data only.
- If you want both club and ball data, you’re looking at around $3,500.
However, there’s a catch: without a subscription, you can only view data on the Launch Pro’s built-in touchscreen, with no access to their software apps or a virtual driving range.
Bushnell Subscription Costs
To unlock virtual courses, driving ranges, and game improvement tools, you’ll need a $500 yearly subscription for Launch Pro.
How does Mevo Plus compare?
With Mevo Plus, you get immediate access to a virtual driving range and 12 E6 virtual courses without any subscription. It also provides more data metrics for analysis.
Which is better for outdoor use?
For outdoor play, Bushnell Launch Pro is the clear choice. It’s equally accurate on grass or indoors and can be used on the course during a round.
Just put it down, and it’s ready to go in seconds.
Mevo Plus, however, requires precise alignment for each shot, which can slow you down—making it less ideal for quick, on-course use.
Flightscope Mevo Plus vs Full Swing Kit
We’ve tested both the Full Swing KIT and the Mevo Plus side by side.
On paper, they look similar but in practice, they suit very different golfers.
Mevo Plus gives you more data, more training modes, and way more ways to actually improve your game.
Full Swing KIT is all about simplicity outdoors, like faster setup, a sharp OLED screen, and zero fiddling with tilt or roll.
If you’re mostly indoors, Mevo Plus still feels like the smarter buy.
But if you want something you can drop down on the range and trust instantly, Full Swing makes life easier.
We’ve broken it all down in our full head-to-head: read the Full Swing KIT vs Mevo Plus comparison here
Is The Mevo Plus Right For You Or Not?
This launch monitor is for you if:
- You hate subscription fees
- Mevo Plus doesn’t require an ongoing software subscription like Bushnell or SkyTrak, offering a refreshing change in a world where nearly everything requires monthly fees.
- While add-ons like the Pro Package and Face Impact Detection are one-time purchases, they provide great value without recurring costs.
- You’re a data-driven golfer on a budget
- With the Pro Package and Face Impact Location, Mevo Plus offers data metrics comparable to high-end launch monitors like GC Quad.
- If you’re into analytics but don’t want to spend five figures, Mevo Plus is one of the best launch monitors on the market for the price.
- You have lefties and righties in the family
- Mevo Plus is ideal for households with both left- and right-handed golfers, as it doesn’t require repositioning between players.
- Unlike other devices that need adjustments, Mevo Plus seamlessly adapts, making it a hassle-free choice for everyone.
- You want immediate simulation access
- With the required indoor space (18-20 feet depth), Mevo Plus integrates with top simulation platforms like E6, GS Pro, Awesome Golf, and TGC 2019.
- Plus, you get 12 E6 Connect virtual courses included with your purchase—no extra charges or ongoing fees—so you can start simulated golf right away. SkyTrak and Bushnell, in comparison, require ongoing fees to access simulation.
- You’re an original Mevo user looking to upgrade
- If you’re familiar with the original Mevo and want to expand your data or try virtual golf, the upgrade to Mevo Plus is seamless.
- You’ll already know the setup, and all your previous session data is stored on the Flightscope system, making the transition easy and convenient.
This launch monitor is not for you if:
- You plan to mainly use this on the golf course
- Setting up the Mevo Plus in a new position can take a few minutes, which isn’t ideal for on-course play.
- Unlike the Bushnell Launch Pro, which is quick to set up, the Mevo Plus can feel a bit tedious. It’s perfect for the range or home use, but it’s not quite designed for the fast pace of a real game.
- Your indoor space lacks depth
- The radar technology in Mevo Plus requires at least 18 feet of depth between the launch monitor and the hitting screen—ideally closer to 20 or 21 feet.
- If you don’t have this space, you may need to rule out Mevo Plus and opt for a camera-based device like SkyTrak Plus, which requires less depth.
- You have little to no interest in learning about data parameters
- Mevo Plus’s main value lies in its data metrics, like angle of attack, smash factor, and club speed, which give you detailed insights into your golf shots.
- If learning and using this data doesn’t interest you, Mevo Plus may not be the best choice. A more basic, cheaper launch monitor would be better suited for casual play.
Closest to pro-level at this price, Mevo Plus delivers extensive data, virtual courses out of the box, and no recurring fees—a complete package for golfers seeking value and performance.
Buy Mevo Plus
Mevo Plus Review: Final Thoughts
In this mid-tier price range, the Mevo Plus is the closest we found to a ‘professional’ grade launch monitor.
Why do we say that?
With the 2 add-on packages, you get 20+ data metrics. That’s advanced club path and face angle analysis and precise face impact data. Everything you need for in-depth swing analysis
If you’re serious about improving, the Mevo Plus is the best bet at this price range.
You’re also getting:
- All the software and virtual courses are included with your purchase; no monthly or annual charges
- Reliable readings from the grass
- Automatic video clips for every shot
- Accuracy test results close to a high-end launch monitor
- No position switching with lefties and righties
- Official integration with GS Pro
But it’s not going to suit everyone.
- On-course players: Alignment can take time, so it’s less practical for on-course play.
- Casual golfers: If you’re not interested in detailed data metrics, Mevo Plus may be overkill—consider a simpler launch monitor for casual use.
